Draft of Minutes—pending comments and approval Attendees: Mike O.,Chair Jeff S.,Treasurer Bob E.,Social Dan C.,Secretary Jeff R., DoR & ISO Ted H.,DoR John S. Peter M.,ISO The meeting was called to order at 5:35pm by the Chair with a moment of silence followed by Serenity Prayer. Mike O. then read the statement of objectives. REPORTS Secretary: Minutes of Aug 29th mtg accepted with correction: Strike last section under New Business (sorry, my mistake). Treasurer: Jeff reported total of $3057. Quarterly donation of 20% of collections being sent to ISO. Also mentioned that 7th Tradition donations have been down this year. Literature: Jeff made report for Todd that meditation books and Hope & Recovery are in stock at club. Suggestion made to order extra H&R for “Day of Recovery”. Reminder that each meeting can decide what literature to make available. If groups want other literature, talk to Todd. We may be able to get it at a reduced price. Social: Bob E. reported that 10 people attended play. Next social will be after Day of Recovery: gathering at Mike O’s. Jeff S. volunteered to bring his “awesome chicken chili”. Seeking one other “chili donation”; please contact Mike. Ted will help with flyer. Bob is soliciting ideas/hosts for November social. OLD BUSINESS Day of Recovery: Jeff R. & Ted updated group on following. Even with rental for chairs, they hope to come in close to total in budget ($800). Lit. table will be in main mtg area. Jeff S. volunteered to bring Lit. Anyone else who wants to donate food should let Bob know. Please announce in mtgs that more service opportunities are available. Website/Newsletter: Jeff S. reported that website has received over 400 hits. Time to start prep of December newsletter: member’s story/upcoming events/etc. Reps asked to call business mtg to include mention of website in script for respective mtg. Jeff is looking into placing Ad in the Reader again (no charge for non-profit groups). Creativity Workshop: special thanks to Pate. 11 people attended. It was fun/interactive. Special thanks to Pate; he will provide fin. report. Thanks again to Illinois Masonic for use of site; very helpful & accommodating. NEW BUSINESS a. Mike distributed Intergroup schedule for next year. b. Question whether list of “S” mtgs needs updating. No decision made. c. Discussed idea of adding Committee position for future workshops. Would mean amending bylaws. Will discuss this issue again at Nov. Intergroup mtg. d. Do we need committee to choose location for next year’s Day of Recovery? Look at again after this upcoming D of R. e. Proposed regional weekend of recovery in 2006. Idea presented. John mentioned possibility of Chicago co-sponsoring ISO 2006 with Milwaukee. f. Peter commented on need to help people understand what Intergroup does (in service of mtgs). Jeff suggested mentioning topics TBD at upcoming Intergroup as way to get people interested. INVITE PEOPLE; ALL WELCOME. Meeting was closed at 6:30pm with moment of silence and Serenity prayer. Next mtg will be Sunday Nov 7th at 5:30pm at Berry United Methodist. Service Opportunities 1. Day of Recovery: Call Jeff R. or Ted to see how you can help. We always need people to help with clean-up so that we leave the church the way we found it. 2. Idea for a November Social?
