The meeting was called to order at 5:30pm by the Chair with a moment of silence and the Serenity Prayer. Mitchell then read the statement of objectives.
CHAIR REPORTS
Secretary: Minutes from May 1st were reviewed & approved.
Treasurer: Peter distributed financial report. There are deposits and few bills to be processed. Quarterly donation to ISO (25% of 7th Tradition collection) will be sent.
Literature: Ted reported that he is getting material to prepare more newcomer packets. Will print more copies of “Moving thru Withdrawal” for meetings.
Social: Mike updated Intergroup on plans. Barbecue next Sat. June 11th at Greg T’s. Saturday, July 23 concert at Grant Park – “Choral Fantasies”. August 27th outing to Ravinia for music from “Anyone can whistle”. Patty Lupone is one of singers. Mike has 10 tickets (lawn seats). PLEASE LET MIKE KNOW ASAP IF INTERESTED – SO THERE ARE SUFFICIENT TICKETS AVAILABLE.
ISO ONLINE MTG
Mike and Peter participated in session, Reported that it was mostly internal issues: bank account; seek replacement for Lit. coordinator in NY. Locally – the results from survey about national ISO Convention: 50% of respondents interested; attractive site; reasonable price. Suggestion was made: ask ISO to clarify what kind of info do you want us to bring back? Collect info over next months.
OLD BUSINESS
a) Outreach: Jeff reported that newsletter will include article on internet recovery tools, upcoming socials and info about prep for 2006 ISO gathering here in Chicago. Website now at 2800 hits. Ads continue to be put in Reader.
b) Workshops: Ted affirmed that next workshop will be August 20th (9am-1pm). Topic will be Sponsorship.
c) Bylaw Review Committee: John summarized latest revisions made from feedback received. Motion was made and passed unanimously approving new Bylaws.
d) 2005 DOR Update: Jarvis and Ken have officially accepted position as co-chairs of Day of Recovery. Deposit check has been given to Unity church; remainder of cost due few weeks before.
e) 2006 ISO: John S. and Joe S. have met to consider proposed schedule and service opportunities for event. Todd and Bob E. have volunteered to work on Social.
NEW BUSINESS
*REMINDER next Intergroup Mtg is July 10th*
Discussion of idea of “service sponsor” – extra layer of support and a tool of accountability. Intergroup felt “things were going well” but helpful tool when needed.
Meeting was closed at 6:25pm with a moment of silence and Serenity prayer. Next mtg will be Sun. July 10th at 5:30pm at Berry United Methodist.
